Lots of Summer Fun Still in Wildwood!

  • August 15, 2013

September may be on the horizon, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t still plenty of summer fun to be had in Wildwood!!  In addition to the sunny beaches, Morey’s Pier Amusement Park, and the world famous boardwalk – there’s plenty of activities to keep the whole family entertained.

The Concert Under the Stars series will continue through until Aug 31st.  This is a free ongoing event featuring live musical performances at the Lou Booth Amphitheatre in North Wildwood.  With musical acts by The Diamonds, The Cameos, Franlinger String Band, Bronx Wanderers and Beatlemania on the schedule, you won’t want to miss out on great evening entertainment!

The Wildwood Tattoo Beach Bash, presented by Rebel Image Tattoo, is an expo of all things tattoo.  Spanning a full weekend, the show includes renowned tattoo artists, live tattooing, a traveling tattoo museum, promotions, contest, prizes and more!  Now in its 3rd year, the show was brought to Wildwood by local tattoo artist Mike Siderio, who brought the first tattoo parlour to the area in 1990.

Come out on August 17th and watch athletes push themselves to the max at the 10th Anniversary Tri the Wildwoods Triathlon & 5K!  The race begins at 6:45am and features a ¼ mile swim, a 10 mile bike, and a 3.1 (5km) run on the beach. We also encourage you to check out the 2nd annual ‘WILD CHILD Splash & Dash’, an event designed to get youth into healthy activity with a 200m swim and 2km run.  The event focuses more on participation and accomplishment then on placing first.

Collectors of all things will love the Sports Cards, Toys, Comics, & Collectibles Show at the Wildwood Convention Center on Aug 23-25th, 2013.  The show features a wide variety of collectibles including autographed memorabilia, posters, coin collections, toys, videos, comics, and fan paraphernalia.  The show even features guest appearances by Scott Schwartz (A Christmas Story), Howard Finkel (Ring Announces & Hall of Famer), and Matt Striker (WWE Wrestler).

For all around family-fun, come down to Schellenger Ave on August 24th for the Philadelphia Soul Summer Slam!  Featuring a flag football tournament from 10am-5pm, a silent auction and live musical performances!  With musical guests Bally Hoo, Alien Ant Farm, Hoobastank and Fuel, this is one event you won’t want to miss!

Anyone who’s been to Wildwood is certainly familiar with the wide variety of delicious dining options.  One of the best ways to get acquainted with the dining scene here in Wildwood is to partake in the Wildwood Restaurant Week (Aug 25-30).  The event features a large number of Wildwood restaurants featuring a special menus for the festival.  The special set menus showcase a 4 course dinner for $30 (not incl. taxes or gratuities).  It’s a great way to dine on some incredible cuisine without breaking the bank!

Lastly, make sure you’re in town for the Labour Day fireworks – a fantastic display of fireworks visible from many places in Wildwood.
